Post 295 Oratorical Contest

Middleburg American Legion Post 295 hosted its annual Oratorical Contest. This
event provided an opportunity for high school students to showcase their public speaking
skills and knowledge of the U.S. Constitution. The contest aims to foster a deeper
understanding and appreciation of the Constitution among high school students while
enhancing their oratory abilities.


Helena Hosseini, a sophomore from Freedom High School, won the competition with her
compelling speech titled “We the People.” Helena’s outstanding performance earned her
a $400 prize. Her speech highlighted the importance of civic engagement and the
enduring significance of the Constitution. The event was an inspiring evening,
emphasizing the talent and dedication of the youth in our community and the importance
of civic education.
