In honor of Remembrance Day and Memorial Day weekend, members of American Legion Post 295 took to the streets, distributing Poppies in front of Middleburg Safeway and Giant in Aldie. This heartfelt gesture aimed to commemorate the sacrifices of fallen servicemen and women and support veterans and their families.
Throughout the weekend, volunteers dedicated their time and efforts, offering Poppies to passersby in exchange for donations. The community responded with incredible generosity, contributing over $1,300 to the cause. These funds will be used to support various programs and initiatives aimed at assisting veterans in need and honoring the memory of those who have served. The Poppies, symbolic of the sacrifices made by servicemembers, served as a poignant reminder of the importance of remembrance and gratitude. American Legion Post 295 extends its heartfelt appreciation to everyone who participated, donated, and supported this meaningful initiative, demonstrating the community’s unwavering support for veterans and their families.
