The American Legion and Middleburg Lions Club teamed up to serve hungry residents of Middleburg and surrounding areas of Loudoun County during Middleburg’s annual Independence Day Celebration. Hosted by the Middleburg Community Center, hundreds of people showed up this 4th of July to enjoy a day full of activities with friends, families, and neighbors. The Middleburg Community Center pool, after a few delays this year, was open to the public. The children’s parade, led by Middleburg’s Chief of Police, kicked off the nights activities. Children and residents were all dressed up, showing off their American spirit to the delight of both parents and those in attendance as they paraded up and down Washington St.
In addition to Hamburgers and Hot Dogs, cooked to perfection by Legion and Lion Volunteers, food and beverage was provided by local providers, Divine Swine Food Truck, Tip Top Tap Truck (Beer & Wine), and Auntie RaRa’s Ice Cream Truck. We must have had the secret ingredient, as we had people lined up all day long, with multiple repeat customers.
After the children’s parade concluded, the rest of the nights festivities began, live music, a bounce house for kids, inflatables, and outdoor games were all being conducted. The headliner, Junk Food, took the stage and performed a wide mix of rock music, with the crowd dancing and singing along. Finally the night concluded with fireworks over Salamander Spa and Resort.
