On May 18, 2024, the District Convention was held at Post 28, located in Triangle,
VA. The convention began at 10:00 AM, bringing together members from across the
district to discuss and celebrate their achievements. The district had surpassed 100% in
membership, a significant milestone that highlighted the dedication and hard work of all
members. Commander Steve Blackstone expressed his gratitude for everyone’s efforts
and offered assistance to those who needed it.
Significant leadership changes were announced during the convention. District 16
Chaplain Mark Grapin assumed the role of 3rd Vice Commander, and Post 295’s very own
Chaplain Mike Husfelt took over as District Chaplain. John Moliere stepped into the
position of 2nd Vice Commander. After a year of exemplary leadership, Steve Blackstone
stepped down as District Commander, with Victor Graulau Jr. assuming the role of District
16 Commander.
The convention was a great success, underscoring the strong sense of community and
commitment within the district.
