American Legion Post 295 held its Change of Command ceremony, in which the previous commander, John Moliere, handed over the reins to the new commander, Gary Nickelson. The ceremony was led by 16th District Adjutant Bob Brady and was marked by a sense of pride and respect for the leadership of the post.
John Moliere was honored during the ceremony for his exceptional leadership as the previous commander and over twenty years of service to the Post. He was awarded the prestigious Commander of the Year 2021 award, which recognized his outstanding service to the post and his commitment to the values of the American Legion. Gary Nickelson, in turn, expressed his appreciation for the trust and confidence placed in him as the new commander. He emphasized his commitment to continuing the great work of the post and to upholding the high standards set by his predecessor.
The Change of Command ceremony was a poignant reminder of the importance of leadership and the critical role that the American Legion plays in supporting veterans, service members, and their families. It was also a celebration of the hard work and dedication of the members of Post 295, who continue to serve their community with distinction.
We wish both John Moliere and Gary Nickelson the very best in their new roles, and we look forward to seeing the continued success of American Legion Post 295 under Gary’s leadership.
